Missions Offering. Every Thursday morning at 9:30 our school worships in chapel. During this service the children give their offerings to the relief effort in Haiti. The second semester’s offering so far is $238.98. 
 
Sing praise. All grades will be singing in the 10:30 service SUNDAY, JUNE 6th. Please meet in your classrooms 15 minutes before the service begins. Following the service, students should go to their classrooms to receive their final report cards.
 
The Armor Of God is the theme of this year’s Vacation Bible School. Everyday during the week, our staff will help our children to understand how to protect their faith and put on the “full armor of God” as stated in Ephesians 6:13-17. Fun activities, music and spiritual growth are being planned for June 14-18, from 9 until 11:30. Register by June 4 with the attached sheet.
 
FREE Fishing Clinic Saturday, June 5 at the High View Inn picnic area, Lake Esadore, 9-11 a.m. Register in the High View parking lot between 8:30 and 9 a.m.
 
Summer basketball camps. Mr. Hering and Mr. Edelburg will be offering a basketball camp for grades 4-8 July 6-9. The younger and older groups will focus on different skills at different times of the day. Registration forms and information are available from Mr. Hering.
 
Year End Celebration/Picnic.is Friday, June 4th. Pre-K are welcomed to attend with their parents. Volunteers are
needed for cooking and set-up, thank you. The schedule for the day will be as follows:
8:25-10:00     Chapel, Awards, Slide Show
10:00-10:25   Recess
10:25-11:00    Guitar Sing-A-Long
11:00-11:30  Student Carnival
11:30-1:00     Lunch 
1:00                 Dismissal with parents
3:10                 Regular dismissal                      
Please provide your own: plate, napkin, and utensils.   ILSA will supply hot dogs and a beverage. Each student is asked to bring in the following items for the picnic:
Kindergarten: 1 pkg. hot dog buns & dessert
1st Grade: 1 bag chips
2nd Grade: fruit or jello salad     
3rd Grade: dessert
4th Grade: hot dish
5th Grade: 1 pkg. hot dog buns & 1 bag chips
6th Grade: hot dish
7th Grade: 1 pkg. hot dog buns & 1 bag chips
8th Grade: dessert
After lunch the children can be dismissed early with their parents. If your child will be riding the bus home, please send a note to notify the teachers so they will know whom to monitor in the afternoon.  
ILS SCRIP available through the summer.   Even though school is out, Scrip will still be available between services every Sunday morning or during the week from the church office. Your purchase through the scrip program benefits ILS students-your own or others. Scrip for Immanuel are gift certificates that can be used for your favorite businesses: County Market, McDonald’s, Happy   Joe’s, Medford Café, Mirage Hair Design and The Turtle Club.

I LSA meeting notes 05/17/2010
 
The meeting unofficially opened with pre-devotional discussion related to possible reelection of current officers for president and vice president with Carey Hartwig to remain president in Angie Apfelbeck to remain vice president.
 
The meeting officially opened with Mr. Hasler leading us in devotion with the story of "the bug on the windshield" to remind us to have the ability to look past the ugly spot right in front of us and to stay close and connected to Jesus during the busy summer.
 
-Secretary’s Report- minutes from 3/15/10 read and approved
-Treasurer’s Report- Chris Mcmurry-report read and approved with majority of balance               earmarked for final classroom renovation
-LLAM Report- Candy Parks- reviewed past activities including The Week of the Young Child with decorations on Broadway and multi-cultural snacks. Candy also reminded us of LLAM shirts as well as the “Summer Fun” program this summer, also Scholastic Book fair is scheduled for September 17-26th, 2010.
-ILS Scrip report- Carey Hartwig- Scrip is doing well with near double in sales from last year in same time frame
-PSC report-Mr Hassler- One Call program will be here next year with increased ability to alert families of events, cancellations and information. Classroom renovations to be completed this summer with painters needed approximately 8-10 days after starting date of July 12th, PLAN TO HELP if you can. Enrollment looks very similar next year to this year. The 6-8th grade field trip is scheduled for June 3rd with Mt Olympus destination.
 
-Attendance Drawing-NEW WINNER- Mr Hering wins this time!!
 
-Old Business- The spring craft and bake sale had a profit of ~$220 with all funds going to the field trip fund, plan to include upcoming bake sales in bulletin to get assistance from church members for more items on the sale. The K-3 presentation of “Plays and Things” went well, thanks to Mr. Hassler on MCing the event.
 
-New Business- Carey Hartwig agrees to remain President for 1 more year, Angie Apfelbeck agrees to remain Vice President 1 more year, and Heidi Dobberstein will consider Vice President position in 1 year.
 
-The eighth grade reception is scheduled for June 6 with ILSA to provide beverages other grades are to supply cake and bars.
-The school picnic is scheduled for June 4 with a fun day planned with lunch, I LSA provides beverages other food provided by different grades.
-Mr. Hering brought style options for girls basketball uniforms as well as hoops with a package cost at $960 for one.
-Vacation Bible school scheduled for June 14 through the 18th
 
-Discussion regarding current supply of white and chocolate milk with motion granted to supply chocolate only on Fridays to increase our children's health.
-School is scheduled to start September 1st, 2010
-Next ILSA meeting September 20th, 2010.
